Arthur-Rose is committed to addressing the changing needs of clients in all stages of health. We have designed our home to accommodate the individual with symptoms of dementia by color-coding rooms, installing seamless flooring, and providing staff with detailed dementia training. We utilize a staffing pattern (1:4) that maximizes the staff’s ability to coach, assist and comfort a client struggling with confusion or disorientation. Because of Arthur-Rose’s unique design and philosophy of care, careful assessment will be conducted before a client struggling with dementia-related behaviors is admitted. This assessment allows us to ensure our staff can maintain a client’s safety and comfort long-term in our facility and allow our staff to prepare a program to address the typical, and the occasionally unusual or invasive behavior of client’s with severe dementia.
